Your timeshare resort for all seasons in the heart of New Zealand

How it Works

What sort of timeshare is available at Ika Nui?

Taupo Ika Nui has 28 apartments, 6 two-bedroom apartments and 22 one-bedroom apartments and all are divided into 52 periods for each year - one for each week – Taupo Ika Nui is Title Based, (for 999 years) giving the owner an undivided interest in the property. All resorts have one week each year reserved for maintenance. In Taupo Ika Nui case with 28 units in the complex, each purchaser would own 1/1428th interest in the property, (28 units X 51 weeks). Your freehold title deeds can be inherited, gifted, sold or kept for use forever. A Body Corporate Committee is elected annually by the owners to control the management of the resort on their behalf.

Taupo Ika Nui has, like most timeshare resorts in Australasia, a mainly "floating" system of ownership, with a few owners owning “fixed” weeks over the Christmas / January holiday period.

Fixed weeks (including holiday and “ski” weeks).

These are "Fixed Bookings" these owners are guaranteed the same unit in the same weeks each year.

Floating Weeks

Around 99% of our owners are “floating week owners”, giving them the flexibility to book the apartment of their choice in the week they prefer (subject to availability) with bookings open for confirmation 32 weeks ahead. "Pencil bookings" will be accepted before that, but can be subject to ballot at the 32 week mark if there are more bookings than units. This normally only happens over the Christmas / New Year period.
It is important to book your weeks each year, or bank them with an exchange company, as they do not carry over to next year except through an exchange company. Unit allocation is random with floating time, but you may request certain units at booking and the managers will endeavour to oblige if the units are not already committed.

How to Buy at Taupo Ika Nui

Taupo Ika Nui Timeshare has one and two bedroom floating and fixed weeks for sale on behalf of owners.

We take care of all the paper work for you at Taupo Ika Nui and once we have a signed “Sale and Purchase Agreement” we then forward this to John de Graaf of de Graaf Conveyance in Auckland. From this point de Graaf’s will act as your Representatives throughout the purchase, de Graaf's will hold your money in trust, register the transfer and pay out the vendor. De Graaf's will then send you your ownership title, pooling deed and Section 36 Certificate on behalf of Taupo Ika Nui . All going well the entire process shouldn’t take any longer than 4 – 6 weeks.

Buying a resale means getting exactly the same quality and standards the original owner had when they bought new but at a much more realistic price.
